Today, I have a very special treat for all of the anime Otakus, and appreciators of quality alternative modeling out there. Just recently, I was graced with the wonderful opportunity to contact and interview the gorgeous cosplayer, and official SuicideGirls.com model Lua Suicide!

If you don’t happen to currently know about Lua, she is a very active and passionate cosplayer, as well as the occasional convention event host. To go along with those awesome activities, she also happens to be a fairly recent addition to the roster of wonderful alternative models featured on the widely known website SuicideGirls.com!  For those who don’t know about Suicide Girls, it’s the prime site for classy alternative pin-up, and nude modeling. And it has been around since late 2001. SuicideGirls.com is full of tons of incredibly beautiful sets, featuring thousands of skilled models, such as the lovely Lua Suicide.

I was luckily able to contact her in-between her exciting life of cosplaying, event hosting and modeling in order to send her some interview questions. And she was totally courteous about it! Here’s what she had to say about herself:

How did you get your start in modeling? Was Suicide Girls your first outing in modeling? If so what made you want to do it?:

I’ve done various shoots for friends for years.. Modeling their clothing lines, letting my friends do my hair and makeup for their portfolio.. Etc. I didn’t start modeling until I shot my first set for SuicideGirls a year ago.

Now that you’ve become a big star, what does a day in your life typically consist of?:

I wouldn’t consider myself a “big star” but a day in my life consist of work, food, video games, anime, Netflix, comic books, other books, cosplay projects and playing with puppies.

I’m a boring lady.

I notice you like to cosplay, what are you’re favorite Anime shows/Manga/games, and which characters are your most favorite to cosplay?:

I have 9 different consoles going all the way back to the original Nintendo. With tons of games for each.. I have a huge video game collection but some of my favorites are Kindgom Hearts, Conkers bad fur day, Tomb Raider, The legend of Zelda series & super smash!

I’ve collected manga here and there since I was 11! I’m not sure if I have a favorite but I really love the Sailor Moon manga 🙂

I also watch so much anime. I’m constantly putting it on when I’m working on cosplay projects.. Often for inspiration. My anime list could go on and on for days!

As far as cosplay goes.. With each costume I made – it usually becomes my favorite in an instance. I put so much time and work into them and I learn something new each time! I think my favorite has to be my Saria cosplay.

Are there any other characters that you would like to cosplay that you haven’t yet, also how about any upcoming anime events that you’re looking forward to?:

I have a list of 100+ cosplays that I would love to do! My dream is to accomplish them all!

Well my next conventions are Katsucon, AC Boardwalk con and Colossalcon. I’ll be adding a few more along the way. It will be my first time at all three I am so excited!

Sounds great. Are there any other projects within the anime community in which you’re involved in?:

I’m working on a few projects with Otakus& Geeks. I will be attending a few cons as a guest and judge this year and I am always working on new projects with my cosbaes!

According to your Suicide Girl profile, it would appear that you’re also a bookworm, what have been your favorite books to read so far?:

Cheesy… But the Fault In Our Stars. That book makes me sob like a baby. John Green is a professional heart breaker.

Cool. Ok back to modeling, is it something you do for fun, or do you have true interest in it? If so, where do you aim for a modeling career to take you?:

I do modeling for fun! But I do take my work seriously as well.. I don’t have much of a modeling goal right now. I just want to shoot more and have fun with it!

Sounds like a good plan. Ok, besides that which can be seen on Suicidegirls.com, are there any other sites that feature other sets of yours that you would like people to know about?:

I’m not on any other sites besides SuicideGirls at the moment.

What about insecurities, did you have any going into modeling?:

I think every person has a few insecurities about themselves. For me I pretty much went straight into nude modeling and it was kinda scary. On one page I did SuicideGirls for myself. I love everything the community represents and I’ve always wanted to be a part of that… And on the other hand the whole world was going to see me naked and I’ve never done that before! But it all has really made me more comfortable and happier with myself and body!

I wasn’t always that happy or confident with myself and at times people on the Internet can be really cruel. But I have learned to ignore that and just to continue living my life haha

What currently fulfills you in life? Where would you like to see yourself in say five to ten years?:

I’m not one to look too much into my future. I’m young and have a lot of time ahead of me. I’m just a girl who likes making costumes and dressing up with her friends!

Maybe in 5-10 years I’ll have a fancy new job or move some place warm.
But I’ll never give up my biggest passions and I’m happy where I am.

Right on. On a lighter note, super random but if you could have any super powers you wanted, what would they be, and would you use them for justice or evil?:

I would definitely be a good guy.. We always win. I’d want to have powers like Spiderman web slinging around the city..

But I think I would be more of an elf type. Probably a healer. Hahah

Awesome. So, besides the obvious G.O.A.T. in Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan is pretty much the best anime series ever would you agree?:

I love Attack on Titan! I did a Mikasa cosplay at AnimeNext last year. But I do think there’s a lot of other great anime out there!

Indeed there are. K, last question are there any crazy experiences that you’ve had while modeling, or at events that you would care to express here?:

Just silly experiences mainly!

When I shot my Cammy cosplay in Dumbo (Brooklyn, NY) with my friend Jaycee I got a few funny reactions. Typical Cammy costume is a turtleneck bodysuit with a thong shape on the er… backside. My cheeks were exposed on this shoot. So this man starts walking by, facing us, with the front his flip phone pressed to his chest & the camera facing out. He was obviously snapping photo but he was trying to be sneaky! All we could do was laugh.

That’s pretty hilarious, he obviously wanted to preform his own private shoot with you it seems! Alright Ms. Lua, I really appreciate you giving me the time to ask you these interview questions. Is there anything else that you would like to tell the readers and your fans about you?:
